Compare dealsVodafone UK and Three UK merged in 2025 to form VodafoneThree, and Vodafone acquired full ownership of the business in 2026. The Vodafone and Three brands both continue to trade separately, and the combined network is being integrated gradually under technology that lets customers connect to whichever of the two mast networks is strongest in a given location. Rollout is phased rather than complete, so the benefit you see depends on which masts near you have been enabled.
Vodafone is now the owner of the combined business. Both brands continue to trade separately in consumer, alongside Voxi and Talkmobile, which are also part of the same group and run on Vodafone's network. Three is the other operator brand within the business.
The company has committed to a substantial multi-year network investment programme and markets the combined network heavily. Those are the company's own claims about its future network rather than independent measurements of current coverage, and Vodafone advertising has attracted regulator scrutiny over network claims. Check a specific address on Vodafone's own coverage checker rather than relying on a national figure.
Vodafone applies an annual increase to pay monthly plans each April, stated as a fixed amount in pounds and pence rather than linked to inflation. Vodafone states that the monthly cost increases each year on 1 April by £2.50 for pay monthly plans with airtime and data, and by £1.50 on its cheaper SIM Only Basics plans. The increase does not affect device plans, so the handset element of the bill stays fixed for the term.
Customers on older contracts remained subject to the previous inflation-linked formula of CPI plus 3.9 per cent, which came to 7.3 per cent for 2026 based on the January CPI figure of 3.4 per cent. Which of the two applies depends on when you joined or last upgraded.
Ofcom's rules, introduced in January 2025, require providers to state any in-contract increases in pounds and pence at the point of sale, and the Advertising Standards Authority requires that information about in-contract rises is given equal prominence to the headline monthly price in adverts. When comparing a Vodafone deal, treat the stated increase as part of the price rather than a footnote.
Social tariffs are exempt. Vodafone confirms that customers on its Essentials tariff and on VOXI For Now are not subject to annual price increases.
Vodafone was among the first UK networks to reintroduce European roaming charges after Brexit, and current plans do not include your UK allowance abroad as standard. Charges apply on a daily basis, with roaming passes available for longer trips and different rates for destinations outside Europe.
Rates, zones and pass structures have changed several times, and some plan tiers include roaming benefits that others do not. Confirm the position for the specific plan you are considering against Vodafone's own roaming pages rather than assuming a single network-wide rate.
Vodafone sells handsets on pay monthly contracts, and separates the device agreement from the airtime plan on its current products. The handset deals currently listed on this page run for 24 or 36 months. This allows the monthly figure to be adjusted by lengthening the device repayment period, which lowers the monthly cost and raises the total amount payable.
Longer terms also expose you to more annual increases. On a 36 month agreement the April increase applies more than once, which is why the comparison on this page shows the total across the full term. If you would rather avoid a long airtime commitment, you can compare SIM-free phones and pair the handset with a shorter plan.
Most current handsets support eSIM as well as a physical SIM card. Our guide to eSIMs explained covers how eSIM works, which phones support it, and what to check before ordering.
Model the April increase into the total. A £2.50 monthly increase applied across a long contract is frequently larger than the difference between two deals that look close on the headline monthly figure.
Check which price rise terms apply to the specific deal, since Vodafone has customers on both the fixed pounds and pence basis and the older inflation-linked formula, and the two produce different outcomes.
If you want Vodafone's coverage without Vodafone's contract terms, Talkmobile and Voxi both run on the same network. Talkmobile no longer applies annual price rises and Voxi sells rolling plans only, so both avoid the annual increase in different ways.
If you are moving from another provider and want to keep your existing number, our guide on how to keep your number when switching explains the PAC code process and the timings involved. If you are still deciding how much data to pay for, our guide to what is a good data allowance covers what different types of use actually consume.
For contracts under Vodafone's current terms the increase is a fixed amount stated in pounds and pence, reported at £2.50 a month for most contract customers from April 2026. Customers on older contracts remained on the previous formula of CPI plus 3.9 per cent, which came to 7.3 per cent for 2026.

Voxi and Talkmobile both run on Vodafone's network and are part of the same group. Following the merger, customers of those brands are also gradually gaining access to the combined Vodafone and Three mast network.
VodafoneThree describes itself as the UK's largest mobile network operator by customer numbers following the merger. That is the company's own claim, and its network advertising has attracted regulator scrutiny, so it is worth treating marketing claims about network quality separately from coverage at your own address.
To compile this page we reviewed Vodafone's published annual price increase terms in August 2026 alongside our daily deal feed, and reviewed published reporting on the VodafoneThree merger and the network integration that followed. Vodafone's own advertising describes the combined network in superlative terms, and some of those claims have been the subject of advertising regulator decisions, so coverage statements on this page are attributed to their source rather than repeated as fact.
Deal prices on this page are drawn from our daily feed of retailer and network pricing. Network policy statements on this page were checked against the following sources in August 2026.

This page is produced by the Mobile Phone Finder editorial team to help consumers compare handsets and contracts available through a single network. Deal prices are refreshed daily from our pricing feed. Network terms, coverage arrangements and roaming policies are reviewed on a regular cycle, and the date of the most recent check is shown on this page.
