Which network does Voxi use?

Voxi is owned by Vodafone and runs on Vodafone's network, so coverage and 5G availability match Vodafone directly. Following the merger that created VodafoneThree, Voxi customers are also gradually gaining access to the combined Vodafone and Three mast network.

Talkmobile is the other Vodafone-owned virtual operator on this site. If Vodafone coverage is poor at your address, moving between Vodafone, Voxi and Talkmobile will not change that.

Rolling plans and price rises

Voxi sells airtime on rolling monthly terms rather than fixed minimum terms, so the annual April increase that applies across most of the market does not apply to the airtime element in the same way. The handset is separate. Buying a phone through Voxi means a fixed repayment agreement running 12, 30 or 36 months, and that part is a commitment even though the plan is not. If the price of your plan changes, you are free to leave.

That flexibility is the main structural difference between Voxi and the networks it competes with. It also means a Voxi plan is not a locked-in price for a fixed period, so the certainty runs the other way to a fixed contract: nothing is guaranteed, but nothing traps you either.

No credit check applies to the plan itself. A handset bought on finance is a separate agreement and is assessed separately.

Social media and streaming data

Voxi's distinguishing feature is that certain categories of use do not count against your data allowance, with the categories included varying by plan tier. This can make a smaller allowance go further if most of your usage falls inside the included categories.

Two caveats matter. The exclusions do not apply while roaming, so the benefit disappears abroad. And the categories are defined by specific named services rather than by activity type, so usage outside the named list counts normally. Check the current list against the apps you actually use before choosing a smaller allowance on the strength of the exclusion.

Roaming with Voxi

Voxi does not include roaming in its standard plans. Using your allowance in European destinations attracts a daily charge, with a data limit applying, and longer passes are available covering fixed numbers of days for travel further afield.

Because the data exclusions that define Voxi's plans do not apply while roaming, the value proposition changes significantly abroad. Anyone travelling regularly should price the roaming charges into the comparison rather than treating them as an occasional extra.

How Voxi handset deals work

Because Voxi plans are rolling, a handset bought through Voxi is a separate agreement from the plan rather than a single combined contract. The practical effect is that the handset and the plan can be changed independently, and the plan can be cancelled without affecting the handset agreement.
