The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is the previous Fan Edition flagship, now a value proposition since the S25 FE arrived. Its main draw is longevity: a commitment to up to seven major Android upgrades means even bought today it stays current for years, and at a clear discount to the newer model.

S24 FE: Display

The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X runs at 120Hz with a 1080 x 2340 resolution and Gorilla Glass Victus+, and measured 1,372 nits of maximum brightness in GSMArena's lab test, with the 1,900-nit peak reserved for HDR content.

That measured brightness is competent rather than class-leading, so very bright sunlight will test it.

S24 FE: Camera

The triple camera pairs a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide, with a 10MP selfie camera and 8K video. A stabilised optical zoom at this price point is a real strength.

The 8MP telephoto resolution is modest, so zoomed shots carry less detail than the sensor count on the main camera suggests.

S24 FE: Battery

The 4,700mAh battery pairs with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, and the 2,000-cycle EU rating is strong for a phone meant to be kept a long time.

Endurance is the clearest weakness: GSMArena's active use score of 11:48 hours is below par, and the newer S25 FE improved on it slightly with a larger cell.

S24 FE: Size, Weight and Build

At 162 x 77.3 x 8mm and 213g with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both faces, an aluminium frame and IP68 sealing, it is built to the same standard as pricier Samsung phones, in five colours including Mint and Yellow.

At 213g it is one of the heavier phones in its class, a trade-off for the glass-and-metal build.

S24 FE: Performance

The Exynos 2400e with 8GB of RAM and the seven-upgrade software commitment from Android 14 are the reasons this phone still makes sense; it has since moved to newer One UI versions with years of support left.

The Exynos chip can run warm under sustained load, as owners note with demanding games, and 8GB is the only RAM option.

S24 FE: Who Should Buy

Buy the Galaxy S24 FE at a discount to the S25 FE if you want Samsung's flagship software window and build for the least money, and you do not push the phone hard on gaming.
