The Motorola Moto G35 is a budget 5G phone that puts its money into a sharp 1080p screen and a headphone jack rather than performance. It is one of the cheapest routes to 5G, with a dedicated microSD slot to expand storage.

G35: Display

The 6.72-inch IPS LCD runs at 120Hz with a 1080 x 2400 resolution and HDR10 support, so it is sharper and smoother than many panels at this price, with Gorilla Glass 3 on top.

The quoted 1,000-nit peak is only average for outdoor use, and the Mohs level 4 hardness rating means a screen protector is worth adding.

G35: Camera

The 50MP main camera with PDAF handles daylight shots acceptably and records 4K at 30fps, backed by an 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP selfie camera.

The 8MP ultrawide is a low-detail lens, and there is no OIS, so low-light and video stabilisation are basic.

G35: Battery

The 5,000mAh battery is rated at 48:27 hours of endurance on the EU energy label, so a comfortable full day of use is realistic.

Charging is slow at 18W with no wireless option, making overnight charging the sensible routine.

G35: Size, Weight and Build

At 166.3 x 76 x 7.8mm and 188g or 191g depending on finish, the G35 has a plastic build in four colours including Guava Red and Leaf Green, with a water-repellent design.

There is no formal IP rating, only a water-repellent coating, so it is less protected than splash-rated rivals.

The Unisoc T760 with up to 8GB of RAM covers everyday apps and 5G, and the dedicated microSD slot means storage is cheap to extend.

This is entry-level 5G silicon, so heavier games will struggle, and the phone launched on Android 14 with a limited update path, so long-term buyers should factor that in.
