The Honor Magic7 Pro is the phone the newer Magic8 Pro replaced, a former flagship now interesting mainly at a reduced price, with a 200MP periscope camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite power. UK and European units carry a 5,270mAh battery rather than the 5,850mAh cell sold globally, a difference worth knowing before purchase.

Magic7 Pro: Display

The 6.8-inch LTPO OLED runs at 120Hz with a 1280 x 2800 resolution, 4320Hz PWM dimming and measured 1,521 nits of maximum brightness in GSMArena's lab test, with the 5,000-nit peak reserved for HDR content. Dolby Vision support and NanoCrystal Shield glass round out a strong panel.

The screen glass carries a Mohs level 5 rating, solid but a step behind the level 6 glass on the newest flagships.

Magic7 Pro: Camera

The triple camera pairs a 50MP variable-aperture main sensor with OIS, a 200MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide, with a 50MP selfie camera backed by a 3D depth sensor. That 200MP periscope gives it exceptional cropping headroom at range.

Video tops out at 4K, where newer flagships offer 8K, so it is a stills-first camera system.

Magic7 Pro: Battery

GSMArena's lab returned an active use score of 13:53 hours, and charging is listed at 100W wired (100% in 33 minutes) with 80W wireless. The UK-relevant caveat is the 5,270mAh European cell against the 5,850mAh global unit.

That endurance is now well behind the Magic8 Pro's 19:07-hour score, the clearest reason to weigh the newer model if battery life leads your list.

Magic7 Pro: Size, Weight and Build

At 162.7 x 77.1 x 8.8mm and 223g with glass on both faces and IP68 and IP69 sealing, the Magic7 Pro is a large, heavy phone built to a premium standard, in Lunar Shadow Grey, Breeze Blue, Black and White.

223g is a genuine commitment in the hand, heavier than the newer Magic8 Pro despite the older model's smaller battery.

Magic7 Pro: Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Elite with up to 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage delivers flagship-class speed, and the phone carries a commitment to up to seven major Android upgrades, now running MagicOS 10 on Android 16.

The chip is a generation behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the Magic8 Pro, so while still very fast, it is no longer the newest silicon at the price.

Magic7 Pro: Who Should Buy

Buy the Magic7 Pro at a discount if you want a 200MP periscope camera and flagship power for less than current flagship money, and battery endurance is not your first priority. Buyers who rank runtime and the newest chip highly should pay more for the Magic8 Pro, which adds over five hours of tested endurance and a newer platform.
