The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is the compact Pro model of Apple's 2022 line, now a strong value buy several generations on. It introduced the Dynamic Island and an always-on display, and it pairs a 120Hz ProMotion screen with a 48MP camera and a telephoto lens, with years of iOS updates still ahead.

iPhone 14 Pro: Display

The 6.1-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED runs at 120Hz with an always-on mode and a 1179 x 2556 resolution, quoting 2000 nits in high-brightness mode, with GSMArena measuring an exceptional 1,791 nits, protected by Ceramic Shield.

The 120Hz ProMotion panel is bright, smooth and among the best of its generation, and at 6.1 inches it suits smaller hands.

iPhone 14 Pro: Camera

The triple camera pairs a 48MP main sensor with sensor-shift OIS, a 12MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 12MP ultrawide, plus a LiDAR scanner, with a 12MP selfie camera. The dedicated telephoto adds reach the standard models lack.

Video is comprehensive, up to 4K at 60fps with ProRes and 10-bit HDR, a genuine advantage for creators.

iPhone 14 Pro: Battery

The 3,200mAh battery is the smallest in the range and earned a good endurance rating in GSMArena's older battery test, with wired charging at 50% in 30 minutes plus 15W MagSafe wireless.

The compact body limits battery size, and wired charging is slow, so this is the weak point next to the larger Max.

iPhone 14 Pro: Size, Weight and Build

At 147.5 x 71.5 x 7.9mm and 206g with a stainless steel frame and IP68 sealing, the 14 Pro is compact but dense, in colours including Deep Purple and Space Black.

At 206g it is heavy for its size, it uses the older Lightning port rather than USB-C, and there is no headphone jack.

iPhone 14 Pro: Performance

The A16 Bionic with 6GB of RAM remains fast for the most demanding games and apps, launched on iOS 16 and since updated, with years of iOS support still ahead.

The chip is older than current Pro models, but in daily use it still feels flagship-fast.
